One-to-one or small group infant massage sessions Wednesdays
Due to Covid-19 my classes are currently running online
Massage provides a wonderful opportunity to bond with your baby and nurture a positive relationship. There has been a great deal of research highlighting the physiological, emotional and cognitive benefits of massage in infants. Additionally, there can be some very definite benefits for the parent.
We cover a range of baby massage moves each week focusing on one area at a time so that baby gets used to touch which is a babies first form of communication. We start with the least sensitive parts first (legs) and work up to head and face massage. We learn different strokes to aid growth, soothing and bonding for you and baby, while exploring our relationship with them.
I keep the classes small so you will get lots of one-to-one attention. If you need to change or feed baby or if they want to sleep that’s fine; we go over the moves again at subsequent sessions and you will also receive a handout at the end.
Baby Massage can be done from newborn age until ‘mobile’, assuming there are no contraindications or medical reasons for not starting. If you have any doubts please contact your GP or speak to myself regarding this.
Do be aware that we sit on the floor (on blocks or cushions).
Baby massage can help with
